Ahead of the commissioning of Ibom Paint Limited by the governor of Akwa Ibom state, Pastor Umo Eno PhD, Political stakeholders from Etinan Local Government Area have been acquainted with the development at former peacock paint factory.
The Managing Director of Akwa Ibom Investment Corporation (AKICORP), Pastor Imo-Abasi Jacob together with the Delivery Advisor of the project, Hon Ime Uwah met with the stakeholders at the company’s conference room.
Addressing the media at end of the meeting, Pastor Imo-Abasi Jacob said the meeting was part of activities lined up before the commissioning of the company by the state governor.
“We came here to acquaint the stakeholders of work being done here and to solicit their support before, during and after the commissioning of the company by the governor”
On the plans to keep the paint in the market, Pastor Jacob said there is a strategic plan which was discussed and approved at the state Executive Council.
His Excellency is a business man and we will follow the strategic plan. We are entrenching corporate governance to make sure the company is well run so that it will not follow the tracks of the former company”
We are deploying technology as you can see that paint production is highly computerized. We have the lab in place to ensure everything is tested. Remember, the defunct peacock paint was known for quality and we cannot build on anything less. The market is already excited to receive Ibom Paint Limited products”
Ibom Paint Limited will produce more of industrial paint and marine coating. According to the delivery Advisor,Hon Ime Uwah “Where you will hear more of us will be the oil companies and the marine sector”.
The stakeholders were guided round the plant where they expressed satisfaction with the level of work done to keep the company running.
At the head of Etinan delegation was the chairman of Council, Hon Uko Umoh, the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Uko Udo SAN, Political Leader of Etinan, Rt.Hon Kenneth Okon, Chairman of Elders Council in Etinan, Dr. Okon Emah, Engr Billy Etuk among others.
