“Let me thank you for coming together to think about the health needs of our people.
“Your vision is in line with our vision of accessible and affordable healthcare for our people. We will collaborate and partner together in our determination to meet the health needs of the people.”

The Chairman used the occasion to announce plans by the council to renovate and equip four Primary Health Centres in the local government.
“Our health centres are in deplorable state. We are not building new ones but we will renovate and equip it with drugs and furniture. I am very happy that there are pharmacists among you who will be of help to the council.”

The council boss also called on them to help in the fight against fake and counterfeit drugs which is killing our people in the villages.

Mrs Ukpong lamented over the non reconstruction of a Primary Health Centre in Ikot Akpan Ntembom affected by the dualisation of Etinan -Ndon Eyo Road saying, it has denied the people of health care as well as donations from international organisations.

Earlier in his address, the interim International President, IFEIHP, Mr. Onoitem David Umoh said the forum is made up of health professionals who are directly or indirectly contributing to the achievement of a healthier society in the local government.

Mr. Onoitem Umoh called for collaboration in the area of health outreach programs, capacity building, infrastructure support, public health advocacy, youth empowerment and emergency response.

“Together, let us shape the political landscape and advance good governance in our local government through the power of health.
“We stand ready to collaborate with your administration to ensure that the people of Etinan enjoy access to quality healthcare” he concluded
