The Chairman, Etinan Local Government Area, Honourable Uko Umoh has reconstituted revenue committees for the local government area.
Inaugurating the committees in his office, the Council boss urged them to help the council improve its internally generated revenue profile in the 2025 fiscal year.
The chairman stressed that their appointment is non partisan and warned against the use of violence in the discharge of their official duties.
“You have been called upon to help the local government shore up its revenue base, we have a lot to do with money and the Council counts on you.
“I don’t believe in excuses and I expect quarterly report from you. Remember you are working for a united and prosperous Etinan Local Government Area” he stated.
The chairman announced to the committee heads that they were reporting directly to the office of the vice chairman of council.
Also speaking, the Vice Chairman of the Council, Hon Imaobong Michael urged the chairmen to bring people of proven integrity to work for them in the revenue drive.
She vouched for the character of some of the inaugurated chairmen of committees and assured the chairman of better returns to the purse of the Council.
Responding on behalf of the committee chairmen, Mr. Edidiong Akpan thanked the Council for finding them fit to oversee the activities of various revenue committees.
He assured the Council that the revenue committees will not let the council down in its revenue drive.
The secretary of Council, Hon Idorenyin Udo thanked the chairman of council for putting the development of Etinan ahead of every other interest and consideration.
The chairmen of committees are Mr. Edidiong Akpan for Uyo Motor park; Mr. Ikanke Isaac Sanitation Committee; Augustine Nkan for Port Harcourt Motor Park; Lucky James is chairman Motor emblem committee while Mr. Akwaowo Enamidem Emah is chairman in charge of Business premises committee.
Others are Prince Okon Ufia as chairman market committee; Mr. Idorenyin Etukudoh is chairman Keke revenue committee; Mfon Musa Nsa is chairman Motorcyclist emblem while Mr Ime Bassey Ekwere is in charge of stray animals revenue committee.
The inauguration was witnessed by the Head of Service, Mrs Mercy Ntekim, Chief of Staff to the Chairman, Pastor Ubong Inyang and the head of IGR in the Council, Mrs Ukpong Ekpedeme Alexander.
