Hon Uko Umoh, Chairman Etinan Local Government Area in Akwa Ibom State has flagged off grading of rural roads in the 12 political wards of the local government.
The Council’s grader was handed over to the Deputy Leader of the legislative council who represents the people of Northern Iman Ward 1, Hon Abasifreke Noah to kickstart rural road grading.
Speaking at the flag off exercise, Hon Uko Umoh said the council will grade five kilometers of road in each ward across the local government area.
He warned against discrimination in the grading exercise insisting that, the five kilometers of rural roads to be graded must spread across all the villages in the ward irrespective of their political leaning.
“Don’t tell me because an APC or any other party’s chieftain lives along that road as such we cannot grade it. This grader is the property of Etinan Local Government Area and it must serve the people of Etinan irrespective of political party’s affiliation”,the Council boss declared.
