Etinan Local Government Council has handed over the affairs of the Local Government to God in a solemn assembly attended by the Chairman, Hon. Uko Umoh.
The religious event attended by the Vice Chairman,Hon Imaobong Michael, Leader of the Legislative Council, Hon. Ekerete Umoh and all the councilors, Council’s secretary, Hon Idorenyin Udo and the Head of Local Government Service, Mrs. Mercy Ntekim and Directors as well as the chief of staff to the Chairman, Pastor Ubong Inyang.
The solemn assembly featured praise and worship session, word ministration as delivered by the Area Superintendent of The Apostolic Church, Ikot Udobia, Apostle S.B. Inyang.
Speaking at the Solemn event, the chairman of Council, Hon. Uko Umoh appreciated God for what He has used them to achieve in Etinan in the last three months
Hon. Uko Umoh called for mutual respect among the political class and the civil servants noting that, nobody can fault the local government administration under his leadership on project execution.
“You can see the ongoing construction of a modern motor park, the remodelling of the Etinan roundabout, procurement of electric transformers and water pumps for our rural communities,” the chairman stated.
Meanwhile National Union of Local Government Employee, Etinan Branch now has a new executive to pilot the affairs of the worker’s union in Etinan.
The former chairman of NULGE in Etinan, Comrade Ifiok Marculey presented the new leadership of the inion to the Chairman in his office.
Receiving the new leadership, Hon Uko Umoh thanked the Ifiok Macauley’s led executive for working hand in hand with the local government in the implementation of its programmes and policies for the people.
“I had a robust relationship with the immediate past leadership. I don’t like excuses but want to see result. Let’s work together as you have my full support”.
The chairman hinted of plans to organise training workshops for staff of the council and solicited the full co-operation of NULGE to his administration.
In his remarks, the new NULGE chairman, Comrade Idongesit Essien, thanked the council boss for opening his doors to them and assured him of the readiness of his leadership to work towards the realization of his lofty dreams for the people of Etinan Local Government Area.
The new executive members are Comrade Idongesit Essien as Chairman, Comrade Edu Kingsley (Vice Chairman), Comrade Matthias Idiong (Secretary), Comrade Idorenyin N. James (Treasurer), Comrade Idong Okon Effiong (Trustee), Comrade Nsikak M. Etim, Elder Uwem Okon Emmanuel and Comrade Uduak Ekanem who is the Agric Representative in the new executive.
Others are Comrade Isaac E. Okon as representative of Administration Department, Comrade Mfon Eteobong as Education Representative, Comrade Uduak C. Tim as Assistant Secretary and Comrade Edidiong E. Udo as the Finance Representative.
Comrade Idongesit Essien is from Ikot Udobia, one of the villages in Urban ward 2 in Etinan Local Government Area.
