We will silence critics with more projects – Uko Umoh

The chairman of Etinan Local Government Area, Hon Uko Umoh, says his administration will silence critics with execution of more life touching projects.

Speaking at the May edition of Etinan Local Government Council’s solemn assembly, the chairman declared the readiness of his administration to change the story of rural communities by bringing development to the people’s door steps.

Hon. Umoh commended the support he enjoys from the legislative council and urged them to sustain the team spirit for a greater good of the people.

“In seven months we have completed eight projects. We will continue to silence our critics with developmental projects in our villages.

“I appreciate the team spirit between the Legislative and Executive Councils. That is the spirit I want to see in the Council. Thank you for standing by me to succeed. I am fulfilled with our scorecard so far”

The council boss re-emphasized on the benefits of holding a solemn assembly saying, God remains our source of strength and protection always.

He used the opportunity to commend members of National Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) for a beautiful outing during the just concluded May Day celebration.

Earlier, the Head of Local Government Service in Etinan, Mrs Mercy Ntekim, said the solemn assembly was a spiritual platform that provides opportunity for all to appreciate God for the successes recorded by the local administration since inception of this present administration.

In a sermon, the Deputy Field Superintendent of The Apostolic Church, Uyo Field, Apostle Amos Jacob Umanah called for sacrificial service from both workers and the political class.

Reading from Romans 12:1-2, Apostle Umanah called for diligent, sacrificial service in the fear of God from all, stressing that, it is God who rewards our sacrifices.
“In sacrificing, you don’t hold back but give all. You must obey when the demand for sacrifice is placed on you according to Genesis 22: 1-2”

The Deputy Field superintendent was accompanied to the solemn assembly by the Etoi district pastor, Pastor Ediomi Udosen.

The May edition of the solemn assembly organized by the Etinan local government council was attended by the Leader of the Legislative Council, Hon Ekerete Umoh and all the Councilors, the secretary of the council, Hon Idorenyin Udo with supervisors, Head of Local Government Service, Mrs Mercy Ntekim and all the Directors, the Chief of Staff to the chairman, Pastor Ubong Inyang as well as the chairman of NULGE, comrade Idongesit Essien.
